MDC Increases Pressure on Shark Conservation
This week Midlands Diving Chamber (MDC) announced its support for Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation, naming the NGO as its charity of the year. Throughout 2020 MDC plans to raise money and awareness for the charity's campaigns to end the sale of shark products in the UK.
Speaking from its specialist facilities at Hospital of St Cross in Rugby, managing director of MDC, Simon Wilson, said: "Everything about Bite-Back resonates with us as scuba divers and as leaders in diving medicine. It's easy for us to get passionate about marine conservation and we know the partnership will appeal to our clients too."
Campaign director for Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation, Graham Buckingham, said: "This partnership is great news for the charity and the future of the oceans. MDC works with professional and recreational divers from across the country and it's terrifically well placed to share our campaigns ambitions and encourage support. We look forward to collaborating."
Already MDC is planning a fundraising event to celebrate the partnership and bring scuba divers together. |
